Crown Care
One place for what you do to your hair, and what your hair does back.
What It Is
Crown Care is the Hair Wellness Lab's care hub: a calendar of what you actually did to your hair — wash days, deep conditioning, protein treatments, installs, take-downs, trims, colour — sitting alongside the structured logs that record how your hair responded. Scalp condition, shedding, a weekly check-in and a written journal all live inside it, on the same timeline as the treatments, so a change in your hair and the thing that preceded it are never more than one screen apart.
What It Measures
- Care events over time — wash frequency, treatment spacing, style duration and take-down intervals
- Scalp condition, logged as status, signals and possible triggers rather than a single good-or-bad rating
- Shedding level, when it occurred, and the context around it including postpartum months and protective-style removal
- A weekly check-in across moisture, breakage and scalp, which is the shortest honest read of how a week went
- Written journal entries for everything a structured field cannot hold
Why It Matters
Most textured-hair routines fail not because the products are wrong but because nobody can say what changed and when. Memory reconstructs a routine as more consistent than it was, and a change noticed in the mirror is usually weeks behind the thing that caused it. Keeping treatments and responses in one record turns that guesswork into a sequence you can read: the protein treatment three weeks before the brittleness, the install that ran two weeks longer than the last one, the stretch of wash days that got further apart before the dryness set in. That is the difference between changing products and understanding your hair.
Who It's For
- Anyone whose hair changed and who cannot say what they did differently
- People running a protective-style rotation who need install and take-down dates they can trust
- Postpartum and post-treatment recovery, where the shape of the change over months matters more than any single day
- Anyone told to 'be consistent' who wants to see whether they actually were
How To Use It
- Log the care events you already do — wash day, deep conditioning, an install — as they happen rather than in a catch-up session
- Add a scalp or shedding entry whenever something is worth noticing; the logs are for signals, not for daily homework
- Complete the weekly check-in once a week, which takes under a minute and anchors everything else
- Read the calendar backwards when something changes, and look at what sits in the two to four weeks before it
- Use the journal for context a structured field cannot hold — a bad install, a stressful month, a product that felt wrong
