Data Retention Policy

This policy describes how long Hair Wellness Lab retains your personal data and the criteria we use to determine retention periods. We retain data only as long as necessary to provide our services and fulfill the purposes described in our Privacy Policy.

Your account information (name, email, authentication details) is retained for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as fraud prevention.

Quiz responses, crown scores, porosity results, journal entries, weekly check-ins, scalp logs, shedding logs, and pattern check results are retained for the duration of your account. This data is necessary to provide personalized insights and track your crown wellness over time.

Community posts, replies, and related interactions are retained for the duration of your account. If you delete your account, your posts may be anonymized rather than deleted to preserve conversation integrity for other users.

Billing records and subscription history are retained for a minimum of 7 years as required by tax and financial regulations. Payment card details are not stored by Hair Wellness Lab; they are handled directly by Stripe.

Anonymized usage analytics (page views, tool usage, scroll depth) are retained indefinitely in aggregate form. Individual session data is retained for up to 12 months.

Some data (such as quiz drafts, check-in entries, and journal drafts) may be stored locally in your browser. This data is managed by your browser and is not transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly save or submit it.

You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at hello@hairwellnesslab.com or through your account settings. We will process deletion requests within 30 days, subject to legal retention requirements.
